1. About These Terms

These terms and conditions ("Terms") govern your use of the TripleGem Books website at www.triplegembooks.com ("Site") and any orders you place through it. By placing an order, you agree to be bound by these Terms.

2. About Us

TripleGem Books is a trading name operating from the United Kingdom. We create personalised children's storybooks using AI-assisted story generation and illustration.

3. Our Products

We offer personalised children's storybooks in two formats:

  • Hardcover book: A professionally printed, casewrap hardcover storybook (approximately 24 pages, 9×7 inch landscape format) delivered to your door.
  • Ebook (PDF): A digital PDF version of the storybook (approximately 18 pages) available for immediate download once generated.

Each book is uniquely created based on the information you provide about your child, including their name, appearance, personality, and chosen theme. AI technology is used to generate both the story text and illustrations.

4. Ordering Process

  1. Submit your details: You complete our order form with your child's information, upload photos (optional), choose a theme, and select a book format.
  2. Preview: We generate a preview of your personalised story, including a cover image and full story text. You can review this before proceeding.
  3. Payment: If you're happy with the preview, you proceed to payment via our secure payment provider, Stripe.
  4. Production: After payment, we generate the full illustrated book. For hardcover orders, the book is then printed and shipped. For ebook orders, the PDF is made available for download.

An order is only confirmed once payment has been successfully processed. We will send you an email confirmation at each stage.

5. Pricing & Payment

  • All prices are displayed in British Pounds (GBP) and include VAT where applicable.
  • Hardcover books are currently priced at £34.99 plus shipping costs (determined at checkout).
  • Ebooks are currently priced at £9.99 with no shipping costs.
  • We reserve the right to change prices at any time, but changes will not affect orders already placed.
  • Payment is processed securely by Stripe. We do not store your card details.
  • Promotional discounts (e.g. newsletter subscriber discounts) are applied automatically at checkout where eligible and cannot be combined with other offers unless stated otherwise.

6. Personalised Products & Your Cancellation Rights

Under the Consumer Contracts (Information, Cancellation and Additional Charges) Regulations 2013, you normally have a 14-day cooling-off period for online purchases. However, personalised and custom-made products are exempt from this right of cancellation (Regulation 28(1)(b)).

Because every TripleGem book is uniquely created to your specifications:

  • Before payment: You may abandon your order at any time before completing payment. No charge will be made.
  • After payment: You cannot cancel your order once payment has been processed, as production of your personalised book begins immediately.
  • Ebooks: Once your ebook PDF is available for download, the right to cancel is lost as the digital content has been supplied.

You are given the opportunity to preview your story and cover before payment, so please review carefully before proceeding.

7. Delivery

7.1 Hardcover Books

  • Hardcover books are printed and fulfilled by our print partner. Shipping is handled by their logistics network.
  • Estimated delivery times are provided at checkout and typically range from 5 to 15 business days depending on your location, though this is not guaranteed.
  • We will email you a shipping confirmation with tracking details when your book has been dispatched.
  • Risk of loss passes to you upon delivery. If your book is lost or damaged in transit, please contact us and we will work with our print partner to resolve the issue.

7.2 Ebooks

  • Ebook PDFs are made available for download via our website once generation is complete.
  • Generation typically takes a few minutes to a few hours depending on demand.
  • You will receive an email notification when your ebook is ready.

8. Quality & Defects

Under the Consumer Rights Act 2015, all products must be of satisfactory quality, fit for purpose, and as described. If your book arrives damaged, misprinted, or materially different from your approved preview:

  • Contact us within 30 days of delivery with photos of the issue.
  • We will, at our discretion, offer a replacement or a full refund including any delivery charges.
  • Your statutory rights under the Consumer Rights Act 2015 are not affected.

To request a refund, email hello@triplegembooks.com with your order ID and a description of the issue. We aim to respond within 48 hours and process refunds within 5-10 business days.

10. AI-Generated Content

Our storybooks are created using artificial intelligence (AI) technology. Please note:

  • Story text and illustrations are generated by AI based on the details you provide. While we review content for quality, minor variations and imperfections may occur.
  • You are given the opportunity to preview the story text and cover before payment. The final illustrated book aims to match the approved preview as closely as possible.
  • AI-generated illustrations are artistic interpretations and may not be photorealistic representations of your child or companions.
  • We make reasonable efforts to ensure content is appropriate for children, but AI output cannot be guaranteed to be perfect in all cases. If you have concerns about any content, please contact us immediately.

11. Your Responsibilities

When using our service, you agree to:

  • Provide accurate and truthful information in the order form.
  • Only submit photos of children for whom you have parental or legal guardian responsibility.
  • Not use the service to create content that is offensive, harmful, or inappropriate.
  • Provide a valid email address for order communications.
  • Review the preview carefully before proceeding to payment.

12. Intellectual Property

  • The TripleGem Books name, logo, website design, and branding are our intellectual property and may not be used without permission.
  • The personalised story and illustrations created for your order are provided for your personal, non-commercial use only.
  • You may not reproduce, resell, or distribute the content of your book for commercial purposes.
  • Photos you upload remain your property. We use them solely to create your book and handle them in accordance with our Privacy Policy.

13. Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law:

  • Our total liability for any claim arising from an order shall not exceed the amount you paid for that order.
  • We are not liable for any indirect, consequential, or incidental losses.
  • We are not responsible for delays caused by third-party services (payment processors, print partners, shipping carriers).
  • Nothing in these Terms excludes or limits our liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, fraud, or any other liability that cannot be excluded by law.

14. Service Availability

We aim to keep our website and services available at all times, but we do not guarantee uninterrupted access. We may temporarily suspend the service for maintenance, updates, or circumstances beyond our control. We are not liable for any loss resulting from service unavailability.

15. Governing Law

These Terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales. Any disputes will be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of England and Wales. If you are a consumer, you may also have rights under the laws of the country in which you reside.

16. Changes to These Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. Any changes will be posted on this page with an updated "Last updated" date. Changes do not apply to orders already placed. We encourage you to review these Terms periodically.
